Our Story

My journey as an illustrator and book creator began in 2021 when I decided to create my own series of books to help young children learn basic Hindi words and connect them to everyday concepts and objects around them.

As an avid reader and parent myself, I spent a lot of time reading to my child from an early age. Along with that, came the desire to introduce Hindi through books (apart from what was being spoken at home). However, I was unable to find books that would introduce simple Hindi words without having to teach a new script. And, this is where the idea of Desi Pardesi Kids was born. I wanted the board books to not only be educational but, at the same time, fun and creative enough for their growing minds to keep coming back for more. I also wanted the books to be easy to read for adults who were either not familiar or not too confident with the Devanagari script to still be able to pass on the language to the younger generation.
